Mar Mateu

A little bit about me...

My name is Mar Mateu, and I am a legal and audiovisual translator from English into Spanish and Catalan with more than five years of experience in the sector. I studied a degree in Applied Languages at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona and, subsequently, I studied a Master's degree in Audiovisual Translation at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and a Master's degree in Legal Translation at the Legal Translation Academy. After that, I started working as an in-house translator for several companies such as The Regional Department of Education of Catalonia, Mas Traducciones and Welocalize. Then, I decided that the best option for me was to work as a freelance translator, and so I did. Since then, I have collaborated with clients and translation agencies all over the world and have participated in numerous legal and audiovisual translation projects.

For me, translation is an exchange of traditions, cultures, and knowledge between societies and countries. Languages have always been present throughout my life, and that is why I decided to dedicate my profession to them. Throughout all my years of study, I have been able to immerse myself deeply in the world of translation and thus become a professional in the sector. I consider myself a meticulous and perfectionist person with the work I do, as I always try to give my best so that the result of the translation is of the highest quality.
